Eligibility
• Open to artists worldwide aged 18 and over.
• By registering for the Open Call, you agree to the terms and conditions.
• Please note: Applying does not automatically guarantee participation in the art fair.
What can be submitted?
• One photo of your artwork.
• The artwork must be available for the art fair at KUNST/MITTE and will be offered for sale.
• You must be the creator and copyright holder of the submitted artwork.
• The artwork must not contain discriminatory, offensive, or violence-promoting content (neither visual nor textual).
Artwork Size Requirements
• The artwork should not exceed 200 × 200 cm in size.
• The winner will present one or more artworks at the New & Abstract booth at KUNST/MITTE. Together with New & Abstract, the final selection of works will be made based on a presentation area of approximately 2–3 metres of wall space.
• The winners of the seven exhibition spots and the honorable mentions will be notified by 24 July.
Sales & Shipping
• You receive 60% of the sales price of your artwork.
• In case of a sale via the online gallery the buyer covers any shipping costs.
• You send us the works to Berlin. We will cover the costs. We will take care of the shipping to and from the fair. We will also handle the installation and packaging of the works.
• If the artworks need to be returned after the exhibition, New & Abstract will cover the return shipping costs.
• The artworks are insured for the duration of the fair.
Participation Fee
• A processing fee of €20 applies per submitted artwork. This fee covers part of the costs for communication, curation, and installation and is non-refundable.
• You may submit multiple works. The processing fee applies to each submission.
• No additional costs will arise — not even if you are selected for the exhibition, the online gallery, or Instagram promotion
Timeline
• Open Call runs until 14 July 2026, 11:59 pm
• Finalists and Honorable Mentions will be informed by 24 July (via Instagram and direct notification)
• Artworks must arrive in Berlin by 20 August, 2026
• KUNST/MITTE will take place from 27 – 30 August, 2026.
Application & Payment
• Applications are only possible via the registration form below.
• Complete all required fields (*), upload an image of your work, and proceed with payment.
• Click “Submit & Pay” to be redirected to the checkout page, where you can choose your payment method (PayPal, Visa, Klarna, etc.) and enter your billing details.
• After completion, you will receive a confirmation email from us and from the payment provider.
Payment Notice
Your application is only valid and officially received once the €20 processing fee has been paid no later than 14 July 2026, 11:59 pm.
If anything is missing, we will contact you.
If you are unable to use any of the payment methods offered, write to us at contact@newandabstract.com and we will send you an invoice for a bank transfer.
