Open Call for participation GROUP SHOW #9

We are pleased to announce the second New & Abstract Open Call.

Win one of 21 spots in a GROUP SHOW in our New & Abstract Showroom (Mollstr. 1, 10178 Berlin) and exhibit your work physically in Berlin! We are looking for new & abstract works on canvas, paper, wall objects, digital art prints and as photographs. Abstract art has so many facets. Whether urban art or digital, from expressionist to minimalist, from figurative to surrealist. Surprise us!

About New & Abstract

Founded in 2019 as an art platform on Instagram, New & Abstract supports new and fresh art by emerging and established artists worldwide. Since July 2024, New & Abstract has been showing national and international artists in changing group exhibitions every 5 weeks on 100 square meters in the center of Berlin.

For GROUP SHOW #9 from 24.4. - 22.5. we will curate 20 international artists from all applications who will be physically on view with their work. We will select a winner from these 20 finalists. The winner will receive a solo wall in GROUP SHOW #10.

AWARDS AND HONORS

First Prize / Winner:

The winner will get a solo wall (2.5 x 2.5 meters) on which the artist show one or more works in GROUP SHOW #10 (5.6. - 3.7.25)

Finalists:

We will select 20 finalists from all submissions, which will be physically presented on a mixed wall in GROUP SHOW #9 (24.4. - 22.5.25). At the opening of the exhibition we will announce the winner of the solo wall in GROUP SHOW #10.

The 20 finalists will be featured in the New & Abstract online gallery for the 4 week duration of the exhibition. Additionally, they will be announced with a feed post on the New & Abstract Instagram account. Participating artists will receive professional photographs of the exhibition.

Honorable Mentions:

In addition, 30 honorable mentions will be announced in our New & Abstract Instagram Story. In total, 50 artists will be honored and introduced.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

To participate, please fill out the form below. By registering for GROUP SHOW #9, you agree to the conditions of participation. Artists aged 18 and over are invited to participate, worldwide. Please note that a submitted application does not automatically mean participation in an exhibition.

What can you apply with?

You submit a photo of your artwork. The artwork must be available for the exhibition in Berlin and will be offered for sale in our online gallery as well as during the exhibition. As the submitter, you must be the creator of the artwork. The artwork must not contain discriminatory, offensive or violent material in either image or text form.

How large can the artwork be?

The artwork may not be larger than 50 x 60 cm. The winner receives a solo wall space of 2.5 x 2.5 metres for the GROUP SHOW #10 (5.6 – 3.7.25) and can also display a work that is up to 200 x 200 cm in size. Further works can be shown here. All finalists will be presented with the submitted work on a mixed wall.

Sale and dispatch

You will receive 70% of the sales price. If the work is sold in the online gallery, the buyer bears the shipping costs. If the work is returned to you after the exhibition, you bear the costs for the return shipment.

Is there a participation fee?

We charge a processing fee of €20 for each artwork submitted. This fee only partially covers the administrative costs such as communication, curation and hanging and is non-refundable. You can also apply with several works. The processing fee will be charged for each submission. There are no further fees, not even for participation in the exhibition.

Dates

The Open Call runs until 13 March, until 11 pm CET. The finalists will be informed on 18.03. and announced via our Instagram account. We need your work in Berlin by 17.04. The exhibition runs from 24.4 - 22.5.25. The opening will take place on 24.4. You are cordially invited.

Submission of the application

Only the registration form below can be used for registration. Please fill in all mandatory fields (asterisk).

After uploading your submission you will receive a confirmation and within one day an invoice via Paypal to the e-mail address you provided. Please note that your submission is not complete until you have paid the invoice.

If you do not use Paypal, please contact us in good time by e-mail at contact@newandabstract.com and we will send you an invoice for a bank transfer.

Payment process

Please note that your submission is only complete once you have transferred the processing fee of €20 until the deadline 13 March at 11 pm CET. Your application is valid and received by us once the payment has been completed. If anything is missing, we will contact you.
