The Open Call gives you the chance to present your work physically at the New & Abstract booth at Discovery Art Fair Frankfurt, where more than 100 international galleries and artists meet an audience of over 15,000 art enthusiasts. In addition to the main winner, 20 Honorable Mentions will receive visibility through the New & Abstract Instagram channels.

The Open Call is open to artists from around the world aged 18 and over. Both emerging and established artists are welcome to submit their work.

We are looking for fresh and distinctive contemporary positions – from Urban and Digital Art to Expressionism, Minimalism, figurative and surreal approaches. Eligible works include works on canvas and paper, wall-based works, digital art prints and photography. Most importantly: surprise us with your individual artistic style.

The winner receives 2 linear metres of exhibition space at the New & Abstract booth at Discovery Art Fair Frankfurt from October 29 to November 1, 2026. Depending on the size of the works, one or several artworks can be presented.

But the opportunity goes beyond exhibition space: the winner also receives a dedicated marketing package to support their visibility around the fair, professional photos of their work and presentation at the booth, and the opportunity to invite their own network to Discovery Art Fair free of charge.

New & Abstract also organises the transportation of the selected artwork from Berlin to Frankfurt and back.

In short: you bring the art – we provide the space, visibility and platform to present it to a wider audience.

Yes. In addition to the winner, the jury will select 20 Honorable Mentions. Their works will be featured on the New & Abstract Instagram feed and in our stories, giving selected artists additional exposure to our art community.

The submissions will be reviewed by a three-person jury consisting of Kai Brückner, Curator at Discovery Art Fair; artist Paul Schönfelder, winner of the 2025 Discovery Art Fair Open Call; and Alexander Jackert from New & Abstract.

Yes. You are welcome to submit multiple works. Each artwork requires a separate submission and a €20 processing fee. The submitted artwork should not exceed 150 × 150 cm.

The processing fee is €20 per submitted artwork and covers part of the costs for communication, curation and installation. There are no additional participation fees if your work is selected for the fair, online gallery or Instagram promotion.

Yes. Submitted works must be available for sale through the New & Abstract online gallery. If your artwork is sold, you receive 60% of the sales price. For online sales, shipping to the buyer is covered by the buyer.

Applications are open until October 5, 2026, at 11:59 pm. Simply complete the registration form, upload an image of your artwork and pay the €20 processing fee. Winners and Honorable Mentions will be notified by October 10.
