The Berlin-based artist combines traditional portrait painting with artificial intelligence. At the center of her work are female portraits in oil and acrylic, marked by intense colors, strong contrasts of light and dark, and an intimate sense of presence. The figures appear as if in motion, captured in a moment between closeness and distance. They feel familiar, yet they do not truly exist.

Meier’s process begins with AI. She develops prompts to generate complex female images, while critically engaging with the beauty standards embedded in these systems by consciously working against them. From hundreds of hyperrealistic images, she selects those that feel emotionally resonant and translates them into expressive painting.

In the final step, she brings her paintings back into the digital realm through short video works and augmented reality overlays that are layered onto the canvas, creating an immersive experience.
