Paolo Cervino
Paolo Cervino was born in 1974 in Brindisi, southern Italy. In 1994, he moved to Turin, where his passion for painting grew through regular visits to contemporary art museums. Today, he lives and works in his hometown of Brindisi.
His works are created in the studio through an intensive, hands-on process: multiple layers of color are applied with a spatula, resulting in unique compositions. The key lies in the sensitive balance of paint quantity and pressure – creating textures, transitions, and depth that give the abstract images their distinct dynamism.
Cervino defines his style as abstract expressionism. What sets his work apart is the attempt to evoke traces of familiar imagery despite a highly abstract foundation – impressions that resonate with our collective visual memory.
