Gender Studies

‘True Stories’ is a series of photographic works that combine photography with music and storytelling. The titles of the works refer to songs that tell the stories of the images and can be seen and heard on Instagram.

Monah Hasounah's photo collages are created from found objects: carelessly discarded, forgotten things that she collects on pavements, markets or building sites. From these things, she creates wondrous creatures and representatives that tell stories of loss, hope, love and abysses. With each new picture, the True Stories universe continues to grow, infinite and fragmentary at the same time. Every story is true - or not.
