Hades

In his work, the Hamburg-based artist Björn Holzweg explores the ambivalent relationship between humanity and nature. His sculptures address the tension between our dependence on natural systems and humanity’s desire to control and shape them. In doing so, Holzweg combines social observations with fictional and autobiographical elements. Rather than offering clear-cut criticism or dystopian scenarios, he creates multi-layered visual worlds characterised by irony, narrative moments and a poetic openness. His works invite us to reconsider the role of humanity within an increasingly fragile relationship with nature.
