Albin Siggesson (b.1992, Örebro, Sweden) is a Swedish self-taught visual artist and photographer based in Ålesund, Norway. With a sensitive appearance, people, objects and events from his own life are depicted, building on stories that have already unfolded or are unfolding at the moment. Through dark undertones and an exploratory look, Siggesson's fascination for the beautiful and the devilish inside us is reflected.Since when do you paint and what are your favorite motives?

Before becoming an artist, I had a promising career as a footballer – a career I gave up when I moved to Oslo in 2011. To fill the overwhelming emptiness, the search for something that gave life meaning began. I started with photograpy in 2015 and painting in 2018.

Loribelle Spirovskis “The Architect” might be one of the paintings that have inspired me the most.

When you create a new work, how do you proceed? What comes first?

Starting off with choosing a backgroundcolor/background. Then moving on into enlonging the urge, thought or inspiration in my head. Mostly often I paint from my intuition. I write a poem/text/story about the motif when it's done. From what do you get your motivation?

The fantasy of how I want my life to be. Your life without art would be...

... boring, less, empty, uncertain.

What's the best art venue in your city right now?

"Khåk Kunsthall" for sure!
