Edwin Bolta, hailing from the vibrant artistic community of New York, celebrates his Puerto Rican and German heritage by creating a unique fusion of cultures in his art. Bolta's art transcends boundaries, merging Folk, abstract and pop art, expressed through mediums like stop-motion and computer-generated animation, canvas paintings, ceramics, and found objects.Since when do you paint and what are your favorite motives? 

I've painted since I was a child. Communication is my favorite motive for creating art.

When you create a new work, how do you proceed? What comes first?

I start off with doodles in my notebook, that follows with small studies on paper (mostly done with oilstick, spray paint, acrylic paint and crayons) and I photograph my favorite portions of the studies bring them over to Adobe Illustrator and start working on the final layout of how I want my final painting on canvas to look like.From what do you get your inspiration?

My motivation comes from knowing one day I will not be able to communicate with others and while I'm still alive I would like to connect to as many people through my art as possible.

Your life without art would be...

… absolute hell, I suffer from anxiety and depression, making art is therapy for me.What is the best art place in your city at the moment?
