Dominic Klassen is a self taught artist, born in 1990 in Detmold, Germany where he currently resides and works. He emphasises the human experience and dedicates his artistic expression to catharsis. His creative process involves different types of Crystals, Palo Santo, Copal and many other tools that he uses to open a creative gate of Consciousness. Besides his pop-up gallery, his work has been displayed in various cities across Germany and most recently in Brick Lane Gallery, London - England. Through showcasing exceptional skills he was accepted to study Fine Arts at HBK Braunschweig 2020.
Since when do you paint and what are your favorite motives?
I started painting end of 2015 back when I was living in Australia and I love abstract works as an expression of emotion and colour and form.
When you create a new work, how do you proceed? What comes first?
Emotion is usually what brings up an urge to create and to bring something intangable into the visible realm. I turn up the music, set an intention, my body becomes a vessel for the expression to flow through.
From what do you get your motivation?
The motivation comes from a deep urge to communicate and the believe of possible healing transformation through tmy form of artistic expression, for the individual and also for the world.
Your life without art would be...
I see everything in life as a form a creation a work of art. A world without Art would feel dull and empty.
What's the best art venue in your city right now?
„HOT studio“ artists co-working Community is probably the best place in Detmold when it comes to art.
