Five questions to Lina Danitz

Five questions to Lina Danitz

Lina Danitz, a professional artist born near Düsseldorf, currently residing in Munich. She studied Industrial Design at the University of Wuppertal in Germany and at the University of Cincinnati in the USA. Following her studies, she spent ten years working as an industrial designer while always pursuing her passion for painting. How did you get into art?

I remember when I was little, I used to wake up early in the morning and spend time with my dad. He would make up wonderful stories through his drawings.

How would you describe your style? What makes your work special?

My artworks are characterized by pure and emotional forms that evoke spontaneous associations in many people, including myself. A dear friend once said to me, "That's you, Lina," and indeed, over the years, that particular style emerges effortlessly whenever I pick up a pen or brush. It's not planned; it just naturally comes to the surface. How do you go about developing your work?

Spontaneously. I paint whatever I feel like; I don't plan it out; it's all in my head. Sometimes, I start with small sketches to explore shapes and colors and sometimes I start directly on a big canvas.Who or what influences you?

My artwork is inspired by nature and influenced by the events of my life. The nature offers so many beautiful textures and colors that ignite my creativity and infuse my work with a sense of wonder. And also the experiences and emotions I encounter in life add depth and meaning to my art, allowing me to express a range of feelings and perspectives through my paintings.

Make us curious. What are you planning to do next?

The projects I am currently working on are not ready to be shared just yet. However, once they’re completed, you will certainly see them!
