Felix Hilber was born in 2000 in a small village near Innsbruck, Austria. He now lives and works in the capital of Austria, Vienna. The artist is originally trained as a graphic designer, which is particularly evident in his first paintings.
Since when do you paint and what are your favorite motives?
I have been painting or drawing all my life. However, I started painting intensively about four years ago. My favorite motifs are moments and impressions that I have experienced in my past, especially when traveling.
When you create a new work, how do you proceed? What comes first?
I always have a very specific plan of what I want my paintings to look like. I think about what experience I could put on canvas, sketch it until I like it and then turn the finished sketch into a painting.
From what do you get your motivation?
My motivation is my passion to do something creative and to be able to more or less switch off my head while painting. The process of painting gives me extreme feelings of happiness, which is highly motivating.
Your life without art would be...
Without art, my life would definitely not be as exciting and varied as it is with it. And that's why I'm glad that art exists.
What's the best art venue in your city right now?
In my opinion, you get to see a variety of different artists and eras at the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna, which is extremely exciting.
