Kim Somervuori is born & raised in Finland. He currently lives and works on Espoo, Finland and holds a Master of fine arts in painting. Kim's paintings deal with the tradition of modernist painting and cultural history more broadly.
Since when do you paint and what are your favourite motives?
I have painted since 1989. I started with graffiti and later on i found intrest to paint on canvas.
When you create a new work, how do you proceed? What comes first?
Sometimes it a colour, sometimes its a song in my head. Example Horse stories by Dirty Three. I coud try to draw a Horse and ofcourse i draw something else. That's the way it starts.

What is the best art place in your city at the moment?
I dont know. At least one of the best place is gallery Rankka in Helsinki. Great exhibitions & happenings.
