Since when do you paint and what are your favorite motives?
I have been painting for several years now, started during my studies abroad in Belgium around eight years ago. My preferred subjects are wobbly characters and scenes from everyday life with a twist of humor.
When you create a new work, how do you proceed? What comes first?
When creating, I typically start with the idea or concept. Once I have a clear vision, I begin with a pencil sketch to outline the composition and details. Finally, I proceed with the final painting process, bringing the concept to life with colors and textures.
From what do you get your motivation?
I derive my motivation from a deep passion for what I do as well as a deep understanding for what I don’t want to do. The enthusiasm I have for my work is what drives me forward.
Your life without art would be...
It would be less fun and less interesting.
What's the best art venue in your city right now?
Depending in which mood I’m, I would say the current best art venue in Berlin for a wide audience and sophisticated Sunday is Neue Nationalgalerie or the Hamburger Bahnhof - Museum für Gegenwart. For a Friday evening I would rather got to a smaller venue like HVW8 Gallery, Weserhalle, Spoiler etc.
