New & Abstract will be present at the Discovery Art Fair for the first time – and invites artists to be part of this premiere. Together with the fair, we are issuing an OPEN CALL: artists can apply until September 29. Three selected positions will ultimately be on display at our booth from November 6 to 9, 2025.
We are looking for the new, the abstract, the surprising. Works on canvas and paper, wall objects, digital art prints, or photographs can be submitted. In addition to the three prize winners, New & Abstract presents further positions in contemporary abstraction – from delicate works on paper to large-format canvases and innovative augmented reality experiences.

Discovery Art Fair offers emerging artists a stage
The Discovery Art Fair is one of the most exciting sales platforms for international contemporary art in Germany. With its two locations in Cologne and Frankfurt, it has become a fixed date in recent years for all those who want to discover fresh art, meet new talents and experience current trends.
Discovering art beyond elitist markets
At each edition, more than 100 international galleries, artists and projects present their work to an audience of around 15,000 art enthusiasts. Galleries, artists and project spaces come together on equal terms under one roof.
Of particular importance is the fact that, in addition to galleries, artists themselves have the opportunity to apply and present their works in their own booth. This creates an open and diverse atmosphere where art can be experienced directly and personal exchange takes centre stage.

Discovery Art Fair sees itself not only as an exhibition space, but also as a support platform. The fair offers its exhibitors comprehensive assistance in making their participation as successful as possible. The experienced team of curators and organisers provides individual guidance – whether in the selection of works, questions of display, pricing or communication measures. Step by step, participants are guided through the preparations so that even organisational details run smoothly. During the fair as well as before and after, the team is always available to support exhibitors with advice and practical help. This service is complemented by free exhibitor workshops that provide hands-on knowledge and valuable insights into topics such as marketing, positioning and fair presentation.
Upcoming dates
The next edition of the Discovery Art Fair will take place from 6 to 9 November 2025 in Hall 1 of Messe Frankfurt. Visitors can look forward to a carefully curated programme that highlights both renowned artists and exciting new discoveries.
From 23 to 26 April 2026, Discovery Art Fair Cologne will open its doors. Starting in October, artists, galleries and projects will be able to apply for participation in this popular fair for artistic discoveries.
